I'm curious to know that myself.
I for one would like to point out that I fancy myself pretty good at Guild Wars.
(Not among the best but good enough.) I'm a total newb at star craft, due to the pure balance and skill involved to play and play well. Single player story line is SUICIDE without the cheats or a significant amount of skill at micro management. A SUBSTANTIAL AMOUNT MORE than other games, let alone others of it's class.

As for WH40k, they stole half of their creature designs FROM Star Craft, so how's that taste? The Tau? blatant copy of the Protoss, from their blue skin to the default colour scheme of their armor//ships. (They even have the ponytails for cryin' out loud!) Tyranids? Please.. if I have to point that one out, I'll hang myself. Chaos? Nurgle? Any resemblance to plague marines in Star Craft once again? How about the Bikes and Vultures? Imperial Guard?
You could go on forever.

But what do we know right? Starcrafts only a decade old, and still played today regularily. Almost ALL of Blizzards titles has the same longevity.

Even WoW will be around forever because the game appeals to an audience as training wheels for new gamers.

Warhammer 40k came way before the SC universe. To toss it back, many people have argued about how much Warcraft stole from the original Warhammer series. Warcraft: Orcs and Humans was originally supposed to be a Warhammer strategy game, but Blizzard decided to go on and do their own thing.

And yes, the Tau were created for tabletop three years after SC was released. Even if it was considered a "rip-off" (I can only think of like two similarities) I'd think it's warranted.

I would agree 100%.

This whole thread seems to be in two groups: those who sucked at starcraft, and those that could actually make it past a 2v2 computer match. Get out noobs, let me praise this game.

Better believe it. I know some friends that still play Starcraft and Counter-Strike. Just when you think these games are dead by now...

I play SC for 1-2 hours a night late if I feel like gaming. If I play GW at all it's a miracle. And watching Flash destroy Stork simply makes me want to play more.

lol, I know that feeling when something makes you want to do it more. I'm actually thinking about getting back to GW. I haven't played this game since last summer I believe.

Unless GW2 is a total flop, they're never going to.
Guild Wars hasn't been around for a decade and they're already making a sequel.

I think it's very interesting that you attempt to call out Blizzard on so many occasions and provide little to no evidence, just like what you did here (and failed miserably.) You're pretty funny, though, so I can't really complain.

Blizzard makes excellent products.

There's a reason people still play Diablo II, Starcraft, Warcraft III, and WoW.

Starcraft simply has excellent tactical depth, easy controls, intuitive gameplay, etc. I'm as much of a fanboy for Blizzard as I am for Square-Enix, who makes the most fantastic RPGs I have ever played (Final Fantasy)

I simply admire good marketing and sound development and game maintenance.

ANet has not had good marketing nor maintenance. I like their game, but it does not have the longevity of a game like starcraft, which is truly balanced to an insane extent.

I've always been a Guardian/Hydra player, but after watching Stork vs. Flash, I'm trying to get into Terrrans. Vultures are really good against zealots. I'll tear you apart though

Anyone who says TA/SupCom are better than Starcraft are the sort of people who shift-click on a unit about 500 times and then roll across the map. Not much strategy in massing units.

I don't play starcraft, I play guild wars, nwn1, and dungeon lords. Other then that I'm focused on anime and school...starcraft never really interested me.

"Zerg Rush" usually involves more then "3 units".
It's more of a challenge when you only have a specific amount of units you can send at a time, and not a whole ton load.

When I play, well now-a-days, I just play custom maps that I downloaded from games. Usually do 1vs7Comps for fun, simply just waiting for Starcraft 2.

Online, back in the day I held the #1 ladder rank for a month, then went back to more UMS.
For ladder matches, I use Terran, for anything els. Protoss.

Oh and snow bunny blizzard have yet to produce a game that has any of things you mentioned so please get a life.
A. Your spelling sucks. Quite badly. I doubt you can prove that Blizzard's financial records are tweaked when your post is poorly written.

B. I was being polite (odd, I know, isn't it?) and straightforward in my last post. So don't flame me for anything I didn't do.

C. Blizzard makes better products. They're not the most original, but they take good stuff and make it great. That's what Shakespeare did.

Please Spike, if you want the cold, hard facts, GW is a shit game in comparison to Starcraft and that's all there is to it. The sales and longevity of Starcraft in comparison to GW says that much.
